Twenty selected Sigma Beta Delta scholars will attend Sigma Beta Delta’s second Leadership Academy.  Participants will be challenged to further develop their personal leadership skills to better prepare for leadership positions in business, government and industry, and to use their leadership skills to continue the development of the long-term impact of Sigma Beta Delta and our member network, positively impacting humanity.  Our board of directors is committed to supporting this project by providing all Academy related expenses while the student is in Arkansas.  We ask that the nominating institution provide and/or share transportation costs with the student.

During this three-day event, the students will:

• Learn about leadership styles and their own leadership strengths;
• Interact with local leaders who will share insights, secrets and experiences on what it takes be an effective leader in today’s fast-paced society;
• Participate in fun exercises focused on team building, communication and solving current leadership challenges.
• Meet with top executives from major companies in Bentonville, AR and participate in panel discussions.

If a chapter faculty advisor or officer would like to be one of five advisors needed to assist in facilitating the Academy, they should indicate their willingness to serve on the nomination form.  Academy related costs, including transportation, will be provided for facilitators. If you are interested in attending the Leadership Academy, please attach a copy of your resume clearly showing your earned degrees, courses taught, Sigma Beta Delta involvement and list of recent publications.

We are certain that this Student Leadership Academy will have a profound impact on the attendees.  We look forward to having one of your students join us and play a leadership role in this important endeavor.
