The Sigma Beta Delta Honor Society is for under-graduate and graduate students who are in the top twenty percent of their class majoring in business, management or administration at an institution fully accredited by a regional accreditation entity.

They are being honored for mentoring students at Eugene J. Butler Middle School, working with the Achieving College Together Program and providing “Lunch and Learn” workshops on campus, which focus on resume writing, professional dress, interviewing etiquette, and financial planning.

The purposes of Sigma Beta Delta are to encourage and recognize scholarship and achievement among business students, and to promote personal and professional improvement through honorable service to humankind.

The Sigma Beta Delta Honor Society was chartered to in EWC February 2009 by Dr. Joseph Kennedy, a former business professor. On April 15, 2010, the first induction ceremony for the EWC chapter was held with a class of 12 student inductees. Membership in Sigma Beta Delta is the highest national recognition a business student can receive at a college or university with a Sigma Beta Delta chapter. To be eligible for membership, a business student must rank in the upper 20 percent of their class and be invited to membership by faculty officers.
